Why Crypto Brands Keep Getting Ghosted by Influencers (And How to Fix It)
The top crypto influencers ARE reading your emails. They're just choosing not to reply. Here's why your outreach isn't working — and what to do about it.
The top crypto influencers ARE reading your emails. They're just choosing not to reply.
Crypto brands love to complain that influencers ghost them. But after years in the creator economy, I can tell you — the problem isn't the influencers. It's the pitch.
Your Emails Are Way Too Long
Creators get dozens of pitches a day. If they can't figure out what you want within 10 seconds of opening your message, they're gone.
That three-paragraph intro about your "revolutionary Layer 2 solution" nobody asked for? Deleted.
There's No Clear Ask
"We'd love to explore a partnership" is not an ask.
What type of promotion do you actually want? A dedicated video? A tweet thread? A 60-second shoutout? Creators aren't mind readers.
You're Missing the Three Things That Actually Matter
What you want. Be specific about the deliverable — not "a collaboration," but exactly what format and scope you're looking for.
What you're paying. Lead with a real number. If you can't put a budget in the first email, don't send the email.
When you need it. Give a clear timeline. Creators are juggling multiple projects. They need to know if this fits their schedule before they even consider it.
That's it. Lead with those three things and you're already ahead of 90% of brands sitting in their inbox.
The Real Killer: CPA and Affiliate Offers
Everyone wants to pay influencers only after they deliver results. But think about what you're really asking here.
These creators spent years building an audience. They invested serious time, money, and energy earning their community's trust. And now you want them to stake their reputation on your project — and only get paid if someone clicks a link and converts?
That's 100% of the risk on the creator.
And it gets worse. They have zero control over your affiliate tracking, your landing pages, or your customer support. If anything on your end breaks, they eat the loss.
Nobody runs their business like that.
You Already Know How This Works
You don't buy a TV commercial and tell the network "we'll pay when someone buys our product." You pay for the airtime.
Google doesn't wait for a conversion to charge you — you pay for the ad space upfront.
Influencer marketing is no different.
Their audience is the ad space. Their trust is the airtime. Pay for it.
The Fix Is Simple
If you want creators to actually respond, stop sending novels with no budget attached. Make a clear, specific ask. Put real money behind it.
You'll be shocked how fast your inbox lights up.
